Why Lent?

Lent is about journeying with Jesus. But the journey is not just about journeying towards Jesus's suffering and death. It's about witnessing his compassion, as he heals. It's about receiving his mercy, as he feeds the masses. It's about being filled by his peace, as the world around him came crashing down. And it's about experiencing his love, as he ministers to old and young, rich and poor, and all other categories of people. Lent is about taking a journey deeper into the heart of Jesus. This season calls us into self-reflection, self-denial and into a deeper contemplation of the mystery and grace of God's mercy.
